What is Arts in education Week?
Every year beginning the second Sunday in September, National Arts in Education Week celebrates the transformative powers of creative skills. The week is also a time to recognize the impact of arts education and how it equips young people to succeed in all areas of life.

How to Celebrate World Art Day
- Visit an art gallery. This might seem simple, and it is!
- Support local artists. Local artists are often the backbone of the community.
- Do an art project with kids. You already know kids are the future.
- Attend a theatre production.
- Support a nonprofit.
Is there a national art week?
National Arts in Education Week takes place annually during the week beginning with the second Sunday of September. This year it falls on September 13 – 19, 2020. Save the date for future celebrations: September 12 –18, 2021.
Is there an art history month?
National Arts & Humanities Month was established in 1993 and is celebrated every October in the United States. It was initiated to encourage Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives, and to begin a lifelong habit of participation in the arts and humanities.
