What is Aquacel AG good for?
Aquacel Ag® is intended for the management of a wide range of acute and chronic wounds, based on the clinical experience with Aquacel hydrofiber dressing. Various silver-impregnated wound dressings are available for the management of critically colonized and locally infected wounds.
How long can you use Aquacel AG for?
Aquacel Ag applied to heavily exuding or sloughy wounds may need replacing daily initially, but as healing progresses and the amount of exudate decreases, the interval between changes may be extended to up to 14 days in burns.
Does Aquacel AG need to be moistened?
If the wound bed is relatively dry, it is recommended that AQUACEL® Ag Dressing is placed in the wound and then moistened with sterile saline over the wound area only. The vertical absorption of the dressing will help to maintain the moist area over the wound only and reduce the risk of periwound maceration.
