How do I access LSE library?
Alumni visiting or based in London are also welcome to use the LSE Library’s printed collections – on a reference basis or to borrow – free of charge. There are also internet-connected PCs allocated to alumni, providing access to certain online journals. To access the building you’ll need to apply for an Alumni Card.
Can University of London students use LSE library?
students and staff can apply for borrowing access from the LSE library under the SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ scheme upon production of a full valid UCL ID and a SCONUL Access Band ‘A’ card (obtained through UCL library). Please apply online via their website.

Book returns can be made in person to our libraries during their opening hours. Books can also be returned to the Main Library book returns bin, 24 hours a day to the Front Gate Lodge in Gower Street (opposite the Cruciform Building) or by post to our address listed on our contact page.
