What is Cornwall NY named after?
It was originally called Ketcham Town in honor of Samuel Ketcham an agricultural pioneer who established a grist mill on the creek. Some of his descendants still live here. Around 1850 the name was changed to Mountainville when the Erie short cut railroad came through.
