Is Sunshine Village good for beginners?
Beginners Sunshine Village Almost the entire Sunshine Village ski resort is very well suited for beginners (excluding Goat’s Eye Mountain). There is a beginner area with a people mover right at the mountain station of the gondola lift. There are easy and very easy slopes everywhere.
Why is Sunshine Village closed?
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing pandemic, effective April 1st, 2021, we at Banff Sunshine Village have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our BC border to skiers and snowboards who are not BC residents.

What time should you arrive at Sunshine Village?
If you are looking to skip the gondola line, we recommend arriving after noon. Typically, our gondola line clears up by 11 am.
How difficult is Delirium Dive?
Delirium Dive has complex terrain with steep sections, cliffs and narrow chutes. The easiest section requires a careful walk down to 45-degree chutes. Many climber drop in from the cornice and navigate the big rocks down a 50-degree slope.
What do you need for Delirium Dive?
With Delirium Dive now open, make it your season goal to Dive into Delirium. To enter the extreme free ride zone, you’ll need a backpack, beacon, probe, shovel, and a buddy. The terrain is recommended for advanced skiers and snowboarders who are comfortable riding double blacks runs. Helmets are strongly recommended.
Is Sunshine or Lake Louise better for beginners?
Lake Louise, specifically, has a bit more beginner terrain than its sister resorts and is generally renowned as the best choice for beginners and families. However, the other two resorts—Mt. Norquay and Sunshine Village—also have plenty of redeeming qualities making them a great option, too.
