Nine months after the water-damaged Mai-Kai Restaurant and Polynesian Show put its iconic building and land up for sale, the 64-year-old landmark has landed a fleet of new investors – with ambitious plans to reopen part of the property by spring 2022.

Why is Mai-Kai closed?

The Mai-Kai was forced to close in October 2020 when a plumbing incident flooded the kitchen and caused catastrophic damage. The family said close to $5 million will go into giving the kitchen a full renovation and restoring the property to its historical condition.

Please be advised we do have a Business casual dress code for the bar and dining rooms. No shoes meant for swimming or beach (flip flops or such sandals ok for the women). No swimwear or gym attire. No hats for men.

When is the Kid’s Islanders Revue at Mai Kai?

The revue is a favorite of all ages. Our very popular Kid’s Islanders Revue runs every Sunday from June until November, children from family members of the Mai-Kai owners, friends and employees, join the professional dance troupe in the fast-paced show. No visit to Mai-Kai is complete without a tour of the gardens.

The award winning cuisine includes Prime Steaks grilled to perfection, Fresh Fish and Seafood, Asian dishes to house specialties like Peking Duck, Rack of Lamb and Lobster Bora Bora. Many of the items are cooked in authentic Chinese wood burning ovens.
