The power button does not turn off the light. We have to either use a screwdriver to unscrew the back, then pop the batteries out, or wait for the Lite Brite to automatically shut off. It takes 3 D batteries, and since you cannot turn it on or off when you want, it costs a lot of money to keep it running.
