Yes, you can drive on Fraser Island. You must have a 4WD to drive on the resort (aside from Kingfisher Resort). It is important to note that Fraser Island has the same road laws as the rest of Australia. Drivers who do not obey the rules of the road will be fined.

How many days do you need in Fraser Island?
A: Three days is a general advised trip to see the major attractions, however, there are so many beautiful hidden jems on Fraser Island, you could spend a week and not get bored! In 3 days, you will see a lot, but expect to do a lot of driving and rushing around, if you want to relax, consider 4 or 5 days.

Can you swim in the sea at Fraser Island?
Fraser Island offers many lakes to swim in, Swimming in the sea has many warnings do not swim here. There are just too many dangerous sharks and rip tides that can carry the best swimmers out to sea. The Beaches are not patrolled by lifeguards and are extremely dangerous for swimming.
How much clearance do you need for Fraser Island?
Dd you need a high clearance 4×4 vehicle Only high clearance 4WD vehicles are suitable for Fraser Island’s sandy forest tracks and beaches. Drivers of all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles with low ground clearance may find beach access points and inland tracks impassable.
Do you need a winch on Fraser Island?
Don’t need a whole lot to 4wd on Fraser, softroaders go ok up there. Your origninal tyres will be fine (as long as the tread is ok), no need for winch just a snatch strap etc. Driving lights only if driving the freeways at night. Wouldn’t reccommend driving at night on the beach way to dangerous.
